Masechaba Khumalo Moves On From Her Government Job. The award-winning media personality took to her socials to announce that she had left a prominent role in government and was venturing into something else.
Masechaba took to her Instagram account, sharing a picture holding her baby bump, in the caption accompanying the picture the 39 year old revealed that she had quit working for the Department Of Sports, Arts And Culture as a spokesperson. She had been appointed for the position by the then minister of the portfolio, Nathi Mthethwa in 2020.
“It has been an honour to serve in the government over the last 3 years. I leave this space, excited to begin the next chapter of my career as I continue growing in my God-given purpose. Old energy is clearing, new energy is entering & great things are on the horizon. Azikhale” she captioned the post.
Masechaba’s exit comes after Nathi Mthethwa got sacked as the Minister of Sports, Arts And Culture and replaced by Zizi Kodwa in early March by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Upon her appointment, Mthethwa praised Masechaba on Twitter for being impactful in her way of bringing joy, interaction, and inspiration in the arts fraternity. He had also lauded Khumalo for her determination to always engage people/audiences when it came to issues of truth and justice.
“My newly appointed Spokesperson is a dynamic trailblazer, who has made an immense contribution to the African media landscape and is one of the most influential women on the continent. The Department looks forward to working with an eminent and diligent leader,” wrote Mthethwa to his Twitter.
As a very experienced media practitioner, we can’t wait to see what Masechaba has in store for her fans or what major presenting gigs she scores in the future.
