When it comes to local movies making it out at the cinema’s, well it doesn’t happen very often.
Tell Me Sweet Something, is probably the first romantic comedy to come out of South Africa and it’s not being given the chance to perform to it’s fullest potential.
The movie premiered in cinema’s on the 4th of September and just 3 weeks later it’s no longer showing at almost 80% of them.
The amount of promoting and work that went into the movie is undeniable, this is the first time that local audiences came out full force to support a film of it’s kind.
Lead actor Maps Maponyane expressed how he is angered by the lack of support from local cinema’s. He took to Twitter to express that local audiences will never develop because local films are never given a proper chance in cinema’s.
It’s also reported that the producers of the film are willing to fight to get their film back on blockbusters.
