Actress Mapaseka Koetle has joined the popular Showmax series Adulting for its highly anticipated third season, taking on the role of Naledi. In a candid conversation with Daily Sun, Mapaseka shared insights into her character and how her personal experiences have shaped her approach to the role.
The 35-year-old actress was drawn to Naledi’s strength and devotion as a mother. “Naledi is a beautiful, independent mother who knows what she wants and always prioritises her child above everything else,” she explained. The character’s resilience and love for her child spoke to Mapaseka, who has always valued family and the importance of nurturing relationships.
This role marks a significant milestone in Mapaseka’s career, as it is her first collaboration with Tshedza Productions, a company she has admired for years. “It was a tremendous blessing to finally work with them. The cast and crew were incredibly welcoming, and I thoroughly enjoyed the script,” she said. Her excitement about the opportunity is clear, and the positive experience has only fueled her passion for acting.
Mapaseka’s journey to success hasn’t been without its challenges. Raised by a single mother in Rocklands, Bloemfontein, Mapaseka often reflects on her upbringing and the lessons it taught her. “My mother worked hard with the little she had to raise me and my siblings. It’s a blessing to be able to support her and live my dream,” she said. This resilience has been a driving force in her career, and it’s something she brings to her portrayal of Naledi.
In addition to her acting career, Mapaseka is also a successful entrepreneur. She runs a fashion business, Uzuri, and hosts the podcast Mommy Diaries, which offers a platform for mothers to share their experiences. “I love building a community for working mothers and designing clothes that reflect my passion for fashion,” she said.
Looking ahead, Mapaseka is focused on balancing her career, motherhood, and business ventures in 2025. “I pray for strength from God to provide for my daughter, Nema, and to give her opportunities I didn’t have growing up,” she added.
