Nearly a decade after the tragic loss of her husband, Senzo Meyiwa, Mandisa Mkhize is set to walk down the aisle once more. The former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper was shot dead on October 26, 2014, at the home of his girlfriend, Afro-pop singer Kelly Khumalo. As the Meyiwa family prepares to mark the 10th anniversary of his passing, Mandisa is preparing for a joyful new chapter in her life.
Reported by ZiMoja, according to insiders, Mandisa, who was experiencing marital difficulties with Senzo at the time of his death, has found love again and is ready to remarry. “Mandisa will be getting married soon. She has a new partner, and our family has given her the blessings to have a new husband,” revealed a source close to the Meyiwas.
Mandisa and Senzo shared a daughter, Nana, who is now a teenager. Despite the pain and controversy surrounding Senzo’s death, Mandisa has remained close to his family, particularly his mother, Ntombifuthi Meyiwa. “She still calls Mandisa her Makoti (bride). She feels let down that Senzo found love elsewhere just before their white wedding,” the source shared. “Senzo had paid the full lobola for Mandisa. He even did umembeso for Mandisa’s family. Senzo’s mother has given Mandisa her full blessings to move on.”
In a touching gesture of support, Ntombifuthi has also expressed her intent to attend Mandisa’s upcoming wedding. According to ZiMoja, when reached for comment, Mandisa simply stated, “I would rather not talk about that.”
