South African actress and reality TV star Manaka Ranaka recently opened up about her grief following the loss of her beloved daughter, Katlego, who sadly passed away earlier this year. In an emotional Instagram post, Manaka shared her ongoing pain and how she’s trying to stay strong for her other children.
She wrote: “Umtanami ulele (my child is resting). I wish I could say it’s getting easier but I can’t, not yet. My mornings are the toughest. Most times it’s hard to get up and face the world! But for Lele, Seni and Mpho I kick those blankets!!! I make sure I get up for them and myself. Rest Eazy MyBigGirl.”
Alongside her message, Manaka posted heartwarming photos of Katlego, showing memories that continue to live on. She also included a screenshot of an upcoming graduation ceremony at Ekurhuleni Agricultural College, where Katlego was set to graduate in November 2025—a bittersweet reminder of the future that was taken too soon.
The comment section of her post was filled with love and support. Friends, fellow celebrities, and fans shared kind words and heartfelt condolences. TV host Ntombee Ngcobo, who has also lost a child, left a touching message:
“I know your pain, sisi, and I pray that God will renew your strength daily. You’re in my prayers.”
Another user, thembisegage, added: “May baby continue resting in eternal peace. It will never be easy, but God is in control.”
Katlego passed away on Thursday, January 23, leaving her family and fans heartbroken. The Ranaka family confirmed the news in a public statement shortly after her passing:
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the sorrowful news of the passing of our cherished Katlego ‘KG’ Ranaka on January 23. The Ranaka family humbly requests your prayers and respect for their privacy during this profoundly challenging time. Further details regarding her farewell will be communicated in due course.”
As the months pass, Manaka continues to show strength for her other children while remembering her beloved Katlego.
