The latest episode of Uthando Nesthembu had fans glued to their screens with shocking drama and unexpected twists. While viewers were still trying to process the drama from the show, a new rumour started spreading about one of the stars, Thobile ‘MaKhumalo’ Mseleku.
Fans noticed that MaKhumalo’s Instagram handle does not include her husband’s surname, “Mseleku,” and quickly started speculating that there might be trouble in her marriage. Some even suggested that she had removed the surname on purpose.
According to Drum, MaKhumalo has now set the record straight. Speaking out for the first time, she explained that the rumours are completely false. According to her, she has never used the surname “Mseleku” on her Instagram profile.
“I genuinely have no idea where these rumours are coming from as I didn’t tamper with my Instagram page, anything displayed there has always been there,” MaKhumalo said. She explained that people might have just noticed it now, but her Instagram account has always used her maiden name, Khumalo.
She also pointed out that her Instagram is a verified account, which means changes cannot be made easily. “It could be that people were not noticing that I wasn’t using the Mseleku surname on my Instagram, and despite that, my Instagram account is a verified account so I can’t just make changes anyhow, and it was verified with my surname as ‘Khumalo’ and not Mseleku,” she said.
To add to that, MaKhumalo mentioned that her Facebook account still uses the name “MaKhumalo Mseleku,” and she hasn’t changed it. “Moreover, if I’d change my social media profiles, I believe I’d do that to all of them because my Facebook account is still MaKhumalo Mseleku; it hasn’t been changed,” she clarified.
As for her future plans, MaKhumalo teased that there are exciting things on the way but said she’s not ready to share them just yet.
“I can’t confirm nor deny any projects at the moment, the show is still ongoing, it’s still airing, and any projects or collaborations I’m partaking in will be communicated in due time,” she said.
For now, MaKhumalo is focused on Uthando Nesthembu and says fans will have to stay tuned to see what’s next for her.
