Award-winning musician Ndivhudzannyi “Makhadzi” Ralivhona has announced a generous initiative to support students struggling with registration fees for the 2025 academic year. The Ganama hitmaker shared the exciting news on social media, offering to cover the registration costs for 20 deserving students.

In her post, Makhadzi emphasised the importance of education as a pathway to success. “Education is the key to success, and I would love to lend a hand to open doors! Let’s build a brighter future together,” she said, encouraging students to apply.

The process to apply is simple. Interested students are asked to send proof of acceptance from any institution, along with a short motivation letter explaining why they should be selected for this assistance. “Are you a student struggling to register for the 2025 academic year? I would like to assist 20 students by covering their registration fees!” Makhadzi wrote in an update on her social media page.

The response to her initiative has been overwhelming, with many students reaching out for help. “The number of students in need has shown us just how important it is to support education,” Makhadzi added, showing her commitment to making a tangible impact in the lives of young people.

Makhadzi isn’t alone in her efforts to give back to the community. Actress and philanthropist Nomzamo Mbatha has also been active this year, donating 700 school shoes and uniforms to students across five provinces. Her annual Back to School outreach program, which started in Durban, KZN, helped students at Bhekisisa High School and Khalipha Special School.

In addition, renowned DJ Ashley “Shimza” Raphala recently donated 2,000 school shoes to disadvantaged children in Tembisa through his Shimza Foundation, in partnership with the Hollywood Foundation.

Makhadzi’s initiative is a powerful reminder of how small acts of generosity can make a big difference in a student’s life.
