BET Award-winning artist Makhadzi is celebrating her incredible journey by going back to where it all started — the taxi rank in Thohoyandou, Venda. The singer recently surprised fans with a special performance at the same spot where she first sang as a teenager, officially launching the first phase of her Makhadzi: One Woman Show.

The show, themed Womandla!, will be a powerful two-day event taking place on December 20 and 21, 2025, at two stadiums: Makhuvha Stadium and Rabali Stadium. Both venues are expected to attract more than 30,000 fans each. Makhadzi proudly shared that this is not just another concert — it’s a celebration of her roots, her growth, and the power of unity.

“Charity begins at home. I will never forget where I come from; that is why I chose to launch at home with the people who believed in me first,” Makhadzi said according to Briefly News. “The first phase introduces the strong, powerful women who inspire me. Only female artists, bold, powerful, and proudly African. This show is about honouring the voices that are shaping the future.”

The first phase of the lineup features an all-female roster of heavy-hitters, including DJ Zinhle, Nomcebo Zikode, and rising star Shandesh. Somizi Mhlongo and MickeyBlack are also set to host the show, adding even more star power to the event.

According to Briefly News, Makhadzi is committed to creating opportunities for upcoming Limpopo talent. She revealed that about 90% of the show’s performers will be local, up-and-coming artists from the province.

“The spirit of my show is for us to unite so that we can show that unity is power, and together we can make it,” she said. “I have invited everyone with whom I did songs with.”

With two stadiums, two nights, and a powerful message of female empowerment and local pride, Makhadzi’s One Woman Show is shaping up to be a historic event. “Two nights. Two stadiums. This is a symbol of how far we’ve come — and how far we’re going,” she concluded.
