Award-winning Afro-pop duo Mafikizolo is set to light up the stage at the 25th Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Festival, joining a star-studded lineup of local and international talent. The highly anticipated event will take place this Friday and Saturday at the Sandton Convention Centre, featuring performances from more than 50 world-class musicians.

The festival boasts an impressive roster, including international jazz giants such as Chris Botti from the US, Keiko Matsui from Japan, Fatoumata Diawara from Mali, and Chucho Valdés Royal Quartet from Cuba. South African artists like Thandiswa Mazwai, Mandisi Dyantyis, Feya Faku, and Tutu Puoane will also take the stage, offering a rich tapestry of jazz accents from across the globe.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Nhlanhla Mafu of Mafikizolo expressed her excitement about being part of this year’s festival. “We promise our supporters a great time, taking them back to the early days of Mafikizolo. We have such a great catalogue and so many songs to choose from that we haven’t performed in a long time, so this gives us an opportunity to take them back in time. We are looking forward to it,” she shared.

This year’s festival promises to be a cultural feast, with artists from more than 10 countries performing across four stages over two days, weaving a global vision of jazz as a unifying musical language.

For jazz lovers and Mafikizolo fans alike, the Joy of Jazz Festival will be a night to remember.
