Renowned podcast personalities Macgyver ‘MacG’ Mukwevho and Sol Phenduka are set to extend their entertainment list as they step into the spotlight to wheel ‘Raid The Cage: South Africa’ on SABC 2. The news of their exciting new venture was revealed during the SABC Video Entertainment Content Fest ‘24, where radio and television presenter Nomalanga Shozi made the announcement, sparking anticipation among fans and industry insiders alike.
In an exclusive interview at the event, Nomalanga Shozi delved into the duo’s decision to venture into television and their involvement with the eagerly awaited game show. Sol Phenduka shed light on the beginning of their collaboration with Anele Mdoda and Frankie Du Toit’s Rose & Oaks Media production, revealing, “We were approached to be hosts on ‘Raid The Cage: South Africa’. They were looking for friends, and we jumped at the opportunity.”
Phenduka elaborated on the seamless transition from podcasting to television, emphasizing the natural chemistry he shares with MacG. “There’s a dance we have,” he explained, “even if we do radio in the morning, obviously the register is a bit different; there are words you don’t use but there’s still that dance. We can do that on podcasting, we can do that on TV and radio.”
With their proven track record in entertaining audiences across various platforms, MacG and Sol Phenduka are poised to elevate ‘Raid The Cage: South Africa’ to new heights of excitement and engagement. The innovative game format, where contestants must grab as much as they can within a time limit, promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
