In a surprising turn of events, music sensation Lwa Ndlunkulu left fans and pub patrons in Thembisa, Gauteng, disappointed as she traded a scheduled performance for a star-studded appearance at the Metro FM Awards in Mpumalanga. Slotjhile Pub and Shisanyama had eagerly anticipated her presence at their 7th annual birthday celebration, allegedly paying her in full to secure her performance. However, the night unfolded quite differently, this is according to Sunday World.
As fans gathered at the pub in anticipation, they were met with disappointment as Lwa Ndlunkulu failed to grace the stage. Instead, they watched in disbelief as she strutted down the black carpet at the prestigious Metro FM Awards, held in Mbombela.
The management of Slotjhile Pub and Shisanyama issued a public apology, expressing regret for the inconvenience caused to patrons. According to Sunday World, they clarified that Lwa Ndlunkulu, along with other booked artists, opted to prioritise the awards ceremony over their scheduled performances.
In a statement, the pub’s management explained: “We would like to apologise unreservedly for the inconvenience caused by artists showing up late and [some artists’ failure to show up for their performances] at our birthday event.” They highlighted Lwa Ndlunkulu as one of the headliners who chose to attend the awards, despite prior commitments.
Despite the setback, the Metro FM Awards proved to be a triumphant night for Lwa Ndlunkulu, as she walked away with the prestigious title of Artist of the Year.
