International celebrity chef Lorna Maseko is taking her culinary talents to new heights with an exciting partnership with South African Airways (SAA). The renowned chef, cookbook author, former ballet dancer, and entrepreneur recently shared the news with her followers, announcing a new in-flight menu designed to elevate the dining experience for passengers.

“I’m so proud and excited to announce that I’ve partnered with our national carrier, @flysaa, to create a menu for this fiscal year!” Maseko wrote on Instagram. “The dishes are deeply rooted in my culture and heritage as a proud Motswana from humble Alexandra, while also incorporating pan-African flavours that celebrate the beauty and diversity of our continent.”

This collaboration is a reflection of Maseko’s passion for food and her commitment to sharing African flavours with the world. The new menu, available on both long-haul and local flights, promises to offer passengers a comforting and delicious experience. “Whether you’re flying business class on a long-haul or local flight, I hope these dishes bring you a sense of comfort, warm familiarity, and, of course, absolute deliciousness,” she added. “This has been a dream come true… South Africa the world.”

The partnership with SAA marks yet another milestone in Maseko’s impressive career. Growing up in the township of Alexandra, she’s always remained true to her roots while using her platform to inspire and empower others. From becoming South Africa’s premier black female ballet dancer to building a reputation as a respected chef and businesswoman, Maseko’s journey is one of perseverance and passion.

“I never forget where I come from,” she says. “It’s about showing others that anything is possible, no matter where you start.”

As Maseko continues to rise in the culinary and entertainment worlds, her latest achievement with SAA is sure to inspire and uplift many, especially women in South Africa, proving that dreams truly do come true with hard work and dedication.
