LootLove, the 35-year-old co-host of The Touchdown on Metro FM, continues to shine both on-air and at various events. Recently, True Love caught up with her in Mpumalanga to talk about her spirituality, motherhood, fashion, and what she’s most excited for at the upcoming 2025 Metro FM Music Awards.

When asked what she’s looking forward to most at the awards, LootLove shared, “Every year, I think, is a surprise. But I’m looking forward to seeing who the newcomers are going to star. I’m team Zee Numalo, so I want to see her on that stage, I want to see her dominating. I’m looking forward to the production, how it’s carried out in 2025. I know the team always does it bigger, better. Always love the fireworks, always looking forward to the fashion. I’m just looking forward to experiencing more of Mpumalanga, the place of the rising sun, the local musicians, as well as the fashion designers in the province. I think it’s going to be exciting what they have to show us.”

LootLove is known for being deeply spiritual, and she explained how her faith plays a central role in both her personal and professional life. “I’m a deeply spiritual person. I don’t think I can function or do anything without my faith and everything that I believe in. I believe deeply in God, I’ve got a beautiful relationship with my ancestors. It’s how I start my day, it’s how I end my day, it’s how I navigate my life,” she shared. “I feel like we’re all being pulled by something greater than us and you have to tune into your intuition. I think being a mother has made me deeply, deeply, deeply faithful and spiritual.”

As a mother, LootLove has clear hopes for her daughters. “Just that I help them become everything that they were supposed to be, not everything that I want them to be. That their mom loved them so much and that they’re here to just be great, and I hope they’re better, doper, cooler, more exciting, more incredible than I am. And the lesson is, thank you so much for being mine… I hope that they feel that they are the center of my universe.”

When it comes to fashion, LootLove describes her personal style as constantly evolving. “My personal style right now is under construction. I’m living between old hip-hop Loot and more chic Loot, and I feel like whatever my mood dictates is what happens. Like this dress I’m wearing right now, I bought like two years ago. Left it in the cupboard, haven’t worn it in a while,” she said. “I think I don’t overthink it. I just want to know that I always look sexy and I’m comfortable. If I feel like I’m showing off my body today, that’s what I’m doing, but I can do an oversized baggy jean. It’s just a mood thing.”

LootLove also shared some of her favorite local designers, saying, “Here in Mpumalanga, I’m not sure. I haven’t met any just yet, I haven’t been shown any. But back in Joburg, I’m always on my Ezokhetho, Imprint… I always love a Rich Mnisi as well. There’s Boyde, a young and up-and-coming, cool, sort of street style brand. Boys of Soweto is super cool as well.”

On how she maintains her signature buzz cut look, LootLove revealed, “I have to cut my hair every four or five days because I really want it short. Obviously, wash once a week, make sure that your scalp is healthy. Hydrate every day; I’ve got dry skin, so make sure that’s good as well. And Lajawi helps me take care of my hair, we just did a scalp treatment some time ago.”
