LootLove and Scoop Makhathini to Host 2025 Metro FM Music Awards

The main stage at this year’s Metro FM Music Awards will shine even brighter with two big names taking over as hosts. Popular radio and TV personality Luthando “LootLove” Shosha and well-known presenter, writer, and cultural commentator Siyabonga Ngwekazi, better known as Scoop Makhathini, have been announced as the main hosts for the 2025 event.

The highly anticipated awards show will take place on Saturday, 3 May 2025, at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga. Fans who can’t make it to the stadium can catch all the action live on SABC 1 or stream it on SABC+ from 8:00 PM.

Scoop Makhathini shared his excitement about being part of this year’s ceremony. “I’m looking forward to being part of this exciting event that’s at the forefront of celebrating South African music,” he said.

“As a passionate advocate for creativity and the music industry, I believe South African artists deserve regular recognition. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Luthando for the first time, and I’m grateful to Metro FM for providing a platform for us to showcase our skills and talents.”

LootLove is just as excited to return to the big stage. “The MMAs 2024 were a truly monumental and unforgettable experience for me,” she said.

“I’m honoured to be entrusted with this role once again, and I’m beyond excited to share the stage with none other than my homeboy, Siyabonga Ngwekazi. I’m looking forward to an incredible night celebrating the very best of South African music talent.”

Adding even more glamour to the night, the Black Carpet will be hosted by actress, TV presenter, model, and rapper Anele Zondo, along with Metro FM’s The Hustler Fix host, Mpumi Mlambo. Sponsored by the Motsepe Foundation, the Black Carpet promises to be a stylish and star-studded affair.

Meanwhile, in the Green Room, Metro FM Top 30 host Dineo Ranaka and hip-hop star Thato “L-Tido” Madonsela will be interviewing winners fresh off the stage. They will capture the excitement and emotions of the night as artists celebrate their victories.
