Londie London is no stranger to the spotlight. From starring on The Real Housewives of Durban to launching a successful braiding business and navigating public relationships, she’s become a well-known name in South Africa. But there’s more to her than just the drama and headlines. Londie is a singer, a loving mother, and a passionate businesswoman who continues to grow in every area of her life.

In a recent interview with DRUM, Londie London  opened up about her music journey, her booming braid brand, and how she stays grounded through it all.

From a young age, the entertainment world called her. “From an early age, my vibrant personality shone through, and discovering my talent for singing ignited a passion within me to pursue a career in this industry,” she said. Her energy and voice set her apart early on, pushing her toward a life in music and media.

While she’s a natural performer, her biggest success hasn’t come from music—yet. “Without a doubt, the Londie London braid has been my most significant milestone,” she shared. “The overwhelming support I’ve received from people has been truly remarkable and has solidified my identity as an entrepreneur.”

The braid trend she started has taken off on social media and in real life, making her one of the most talked-about beauty trendsetters in the country. She’s now working on opening her very own salon.

But music is still a huge part of her life. “I am genuinely excited about the music I’ve been creating. I believe this will finally allow people to experience me as an artist,” she said. While there’s no set release date, she’s been working hard in the studio and plans to release a full project when the time is right.

Business is more than money for her—it’s about growth. “My passion for business is profound; it not only elevates me financially but also enriches me mentally,” she explained. “I firmly believe that financial freedom is attainable for anyone willing to learn and put in the effort.”

Her advice to young women wanting to follow in her footsteps? “My best advice is to simply start! We often allow financial concerns to hold us back, yet social media provides us with unprecedented access to audiences we never knew existed.”

When it comes to reality TV, Londie knows how to keep it real. After moving to Durban and taking a break from the industry due to her engagement, joining The Real Housewives of Durban felt like the perfect way to return. “When I was approached for the show, it was an obvious choice for me,” she said.

But with fame comes criticism—and she’s learned how to deal with it. “The most effective approach is to ignore negativity and refrain from engaging with it,” she said. “I choose to focus on the positive comments, as those are the individuals who genuinely support me.”

And while many think reality shows are fake, Londie says that’s not true. “Many believe that it’s scripted. In reality, we are given a brief to entertain and present our best performances.”

She also believes viewers saw the most authentic version of her this past season. “I’ve recently become more in tune with myself, which resonated in the latest season of Housewives. My authenticity shone through, and I love that people felt a connection with me.”
