Local Designer Furious Over Stolen Minnie’s Wedding Dress Design! We thought it was all in the name of fun and inspiration when we saw Linda Mtoba rocking a similar dress to Minnie’s traditional wedding dress for her Isibaya character, now the woman behind the design is threatening to sue.

Asanda Madyibi, a local designer known for being Unathi’s go to designer and Minnie Dlamini’s traditional wedding dress designer took to Instagram to express her anger over Isibaya stealing her design for their show.

Speechless! They say imitation is the highest form of flattery! Is this flattering? In the history of South African television production weddings I have never seen such,” she wrote.

“Its never happened this scale! Unprecedented! Ive never even spotted such imitation of a South African designer by a TV show,” she added in the comments.

Unathi chimed in defending her designer friend writing, “This is BLATANT plagiarism and I suggest you take legal action. Someone signed off in this, intact people signed off in this and that’s what’s scary. That a group of people said YES let’s take food from this young black woman’s mouth. It’s even worse that this all part of the same broadcasting family. I give up. I’m SOOOOOOOO DISAPPOINTED! Talk to your legal team Tshomam. Enough is enough.”
