Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni Exits Her Radio Gig. It’s the end of an era for former Miss South Africa, Liesl Lauri-Mthombeni who just hung her mic at Jacaranda FM after being with the station for seven years.
The beauty queen joined the Pretoria station soon after her Miss South Africa reign ended. She joined the Breakfast team and has been holding it down as one of the new wave leading ladies in radio. It’s still unclear whether Liesl is bidding farewell to radio or joining a new station.
“Closing a special chapter today. An incredible chapter that has seen me grow into the woman I am today . 7 years of laughter, joy, tears, fun, travels, live music and becoming a family. @martin.bester you sir are a true LEGEND. It’s been a privilege working with you. I appreciate you. I adore you. Thank you for everything. To the @jacabreakfast family (original & new era) THANK YOU for the most special memories & all the secret sounds. For all the LAUGHTER lol! Man, what a journey! Thank you Jacaranda Fm,” the beauty said in her farewell post on Instagram.
Liesl’s husband, media personality and Dr, Musa Mthombeni surprised her during an emotional final show along with their dog Cashew. In their personal life, there are no sad tears for the couple who just celebrated a year since getting engaged.
On this day last year… Easiest yes of my life to my most favourite person ever. One day I’ll tell the full story or better yet, I’ll just leave it to Musa to write a 3 page essay and fill you guys in,” Liesl gushed over her engagement anniversary.
