Liesl Laurie and Musa Mthombeni Celebrate Five Years of Love

South African favourite couple former Miss South Africa, Liesl Laurie Mthombeni and Diagnostic Radiologist Musa Mthombeni are celebrating a major milestone —five years of marriage.

The couple marked their anniversary in style, stepping out in beautiful cream-white outfits and sharing the special moment with their followers. In a joint Instagram post, they wrote, “5 Years. Happy anniversary to us.”

Dr Musa Mthombeni added a sweet touch, writing, “Feels like day one to be honest.”

The anniversary celebrations have taken the couple to the Western Cape, where they are enjoying a romantic getaway at the beautiful Mosaic Lagoon Lodge. From mountain views and whale watching to relaxing poolside moments, the couple appear to be making the most of their sentimental road trip.

Musa previously shared the reason behind the getaway, writing, “In a few days we will be celebrating our 5 year ANNIVERSARY (Crazy right? 5 years already?) so why not have a little sentimental road trip in the Western Cape.”

And, true to his playful personality, Musa also had a message for anyone thinking about interrupting their holiday with work.

He joked, “If you suddenly get the urge to want to CC us in any emails or make any check-in calls, please refrain from such hater activities. We are relaxing @mosaicsoafricaYours truly, Yours faithfully, Yours diligently, Yours passionately. Management XOXO”

Dr Musa Mthombeni married former Miss South Africa Liesl Laurie on August 18, 2021, when they officially signed their legal marriage documents. They later celebrated their traditional and white wedding ceremonies shortly after.

Their love story began with an unforgettable proposal. Former Miss South Africa Liesl Laurie and TV personality Dr Musa Mthombeni officially got engaged on June 27, 2021.

Musa popped the question during a surprise weekend getaway to Durban. He took Liesl on a helicopter ride to a mountaintop under the guise of having a romantic picnic — where he then asked her to marry him.

Five years later, the couple are still celebrating their love, this time with mountain views, whale watching, poolside moments and a little well-earned “hater-free” relaxation.
