Letoya Makhene is ready to speak out, and she’s doing it through her music. The former Generations actress and sangoma will release her highly anticipated track “Abantu” on Friday, September 20.
This release comes in the wake of ongoing public drama between Makhene and her estranged wife, Lebo Keswa. Their highly publicised divorce has made waves across social media, especially on platform X (formerly Twitter), with Keswa’s “break-up tour” fuelling conversations on various podcasts. In her interviews, Keswa accused Makhene of cheating, questioned her authenticity as a traditional healer, and even labeled her a drug addict.
Despite the heated allegations, Makhene has chosen a different path—focusing on her music to tell her side of the story. The actress resumed her singing career after the break-up, and her upcoming song “Abantu” is her way of responding to the ongoing saga.
Sharing her excitement on Instagram, Makhene wrote, “I vowed that I will only tell my story through my art. I’m happy to finally announce that my song #Abantu is dropping on Friday the 20th of September 2024.” She added, “Thank you so much for your unwavering love and support. This is only the beginning. The revolution will be televised.”
