Lerato Sengadi declared HHP’s wife by court. It looks like Lerato can finally breath after a whirlwind court battle against her now deceased husband Jabulani ‘HHP’ Tsambo’s family.
Sengadi has been involved in a heartbreaking battle of being noticed as HHP’s lawful wife as the rappers family refused her input in any and everything regarding her husband’s burial, even stopping her from attending the funeral.
Lerato was barred from HHP’s funeral, his memorial and any other event his family was attending in honour of his life.
Lerato Sengadi has been through going through the most for the past two years, going in and out of court with his family, battling her right as his wife.
The Supreme Court made a final ruling stating that Lerato is indeed HHP’s lawful wife and is entitled to a portion of his estate.
HHP’s family spokesperson made it clear that Lerato, at least to them, was not his lawful wife and they will never let that be the truth.
“I would like to put this matter to rest and categorically state on record that Ms Sengadi is not, and was never married to Jabulani. She is not his wife!” Having nowhere else to turn, Lerato took the matter to High Court, and won. However, despite her having won the battle and been named HHP’s lawful wife, Lerato hasn’t seen a cent from her late husband’s estate.”
HHP’s family appealed to the court and the hearing took place on March 6 2020, where, again, the Supreme Court ruled in Lerato’s favour.
The Supreme Court made a final ruling stating that Lerato is indeed HHP’s lawful wife and is entitled to a portion of his estate.
In an interview, Sengadi revealed that Tsambo had a long and tiresome battle with depression which allegedly resulted in him taking his own life.
Lerato is beyond relived that this nightmare is finally over and that her title as HHP’s wife is validated.
