In a candid conversation with Sowetan SMag, Lerato Modise, renowned for being a contestant on Season 4 of Big Brother SyaMosha, revealed her unwavering dedication to child advocacy, a cause close to her heart since 2014.
“I’ve always loved children and the importance of nurturing their little minds,” shared the aspiring actor, reflecting on her journey. “From voicing their needs to providing practical solutions, I’ve been committed to empowering children from disadvantaged backgrounds who are often overlooked by society.”
Fondly known as “Miss Robot” among the children she mentors, Modise has made it her mission to ignite creativity and sharpen young minds through her innovative approach to education. Her online and physical program, Robotical Learning, offers a diverse range of activities, from chess classes to computer lessons and tennis practice, ensuring that every child has access to enriching opportunities.
But Modise’s vision extends beyond traditional education. With her animation series, “The Robbotical Clan,” she aims to bridge the gap between early childhood development education provided at multiracial schools and township schools. Through the character of Miss Robot, children are guided through homework, self-development classes, robotics, and more, fostering a holistic approach to learning.
Modise’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for child development stem from her own upbringing, where she learned the value of self-reliance from a young age. “I started selling small cakes in primary school, but my true calling emerged when I discovered my passion for child development and edutainment,” she explained.
As she puts the finishing touches on her animation series, Modise remains steadfast in her commitment to empowering children and providing them with the tools they need to thrive. With her infectious enthusiasm and innovative approach, she’s poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of countless young minds, inspiring them to dream beyond their limitations and reach for the stars.
