Apparently life is tough after the game but no one ever expects a sports star to go from representing their country to stealing from the very people who were behind his career.
Former Jomo Cosmos and Bafana Bafana player Lebohang Morula, has been arrested yet again for allegedly attempting to rob a truck carrying cigarettes in Boksburg North.
“The investigating team of the province and crime intelligence were following information of people who planned to hijack a cigarette truck,” police spokesperson Lieutenant Kay Makhubela said.
“They made contact with the alleged 10 suspects and arrested them before they could hijack the truck. Among them two were found wearing full Johannesburg Metro Police Department uniforms, and one of the 10 is also a former PSL and Bafana Bafana player.”
The 9 other men that were arrested with Morula were found to be in possession of an illegal jamming device as well. Two of the men were arrested wearing fake Metro Police Department Officer uniforms. The men were arrested at 17:00 on Wednesday and are set to appear in court on Friday.
Since Morula’s arrest a number of his past crimes are starting to surface.
A list of Lebohang Morula’s crimes include:
1.Hijacked Mazda 3 in October 2008 in Hermanstad, Pretoria. He then forced the victims to withdraw R3 000 from an ATM.
2.Stole generators worth R500 000 at a Pretoria factory.
3. Hijacked a truck in 2010 in Midrand.
4. October last 2014 he was arrested when a bakkie stolen from Nissan in Rosslyn was found in his possession.
5.Arrested with six man by the Hawks for foiled cash in transit heist.
And now more recently attempting to rob a cigarette truck.
The amusing part to this whole story is that after Lebohang Morula’s arrest his Wikipedia bio now reads “Lebohang William Morula is a retired South African football player, and criminal.”
