Lasizwe is celebrating a huge milestone as his popular YouTube show Awkward Dates is officially coming to television. MultiChoice recently announced that it is bringing some of South Africa’s top podcasts to the small screen, and Lasizwe’s hilarious show is one of them.
MultiChoice has secured the broadcasting rights for eight of the country’s most popular podcasts. Starting in April, these shows will air on Mzansi Wethu (DStv Channel 163) and Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161), giving fans a chance to enjoy their favourite content on TV. Viewers can look forward to a mix of entertainment, music, comedy, and deep discussions.
If you love drama, relationship stories, and unexpected twists, Mzansi Magic has just the right content for you. Awkward Dates with Lasizwe, created and hosted by the always funny Lasizwe, will share some of the most awkward and hilarious moments that happen during celebrity dates. The show is set to premiere on Saturday, 12 April at 21:00.

Lasizwe couldn’t hide his excitement when he shared the big news with his fans. The YouTuber and media personality posted, “Awkward Dates? It’s now going to be on MZANSI MAGIC! My family’s reaction to these news… PRICELESS!!!! Thank you every single one of you who has been supporting me in everything I do! A whole 26-year-old from Pimville Soweto, created a show for YouTube and now it’s on NATIONAL TV! @mzansimagic.”
Lasizwe also shared emotional and funny moments of him telling his family the news. He had a touching moment with his older brother Lungile, who has appeared on the show a few times. Lasizwe also shared a very emotional tribute to his late mother. Holding a picture of himself with his mom, he said, “I hope that you’re proud of me.”
He also told his older sister, popular actress Khanyi Mbau, about the exciting news. Khanyi showed her pride and happiness for her younger brother’s achievement.
