Siphiwe “General GTZ” Sibisi, a well-known kwaito star, has sadly passed away. The musician died on September 29 after being hospitalised and undergoing major surgery.

According to a statement from his family, he initially showed signs of recovery, but his condition worsened in the last few days, and he passed away yesterday early.

His family thanked everyone who supported him throughout his career. “We wish to thank all those who loved and supported him during all his years as a prominent and pioneering music entertainer of our beloved South African people. May his beautiful, kind spirit live on through the legacy of his kwaito music.”
