Talk show host and actress Khanyisile Mbau has worked hard to turn around her gold digger image to become a respected television personality.
Khanyi’s reputation has been of a bad girl since she took on fame in the early 2000s. She was dating older rich man, flaunting expensive cars and her nude pictures leaking on the internet. Khanyi was even fired on SABC2’s ‘Muvhango’ for her bad attitude and arriving ate on set.
Since then Khanyi has been working even hard cleaning up her image and working hard to pay her own way. Khanyi has also received less bad publicity.
With her change of personality, Khanyi landed her own talk show ‘Katch it with Khanyi’ on e.tv satellite dish, OpenviewHD, but she proved to be so popular that the show was moved to e.tv.
The show has been competing among the best talk shows in the country and at some point the show became the most watched talk show.
Khanyi’s show competed with Noeleen Maholwana-Sangqu’s 12-year-old ‘3Talk’ show and now with Noeleen’s show off air, Khanyi might just take the number one spot.
According to The Star’s Tonight, e.tv will be renewing her contract for the talk show ‘Katch it with Khanyi’, amid the cancellation of other shows on the channel.
This can only mean that the clean image is working wonders for the actress. Since her change of personality, Khanyi has shot reality shows and presented numerous awards. Khanyi has been able to attract the biggest name to her show. She knows how to keep the viewers captivated as she even resolved the rumoured beef with Kelly Khumalo on air. The two reportedly buried the hatchet live on the talk show
The season three of the show started on 20 April and Khanyi managed to share her couch with the first lady of Mzansi, Thobeka Madiba Zuma. This can only mean that she has been working hard to get such high profile names in her show. Khanyi gave the country a peek into another side of the president’s life through his spouse’s eyes.
If you think that Khanyi is just a socialite and gold digger, you’re wrong. If not on her talk show, Khanyi is shooting scenes as an actress on Vuzu Amp’s drama series ‘Ayeye’. It is also said she have shot more than 20 short films for Mzansi Magic between 2013 and last year.
