The 2025 Red Bull Symphonic event is already a major success after tickets sold out in just 24 hours. Fans rushed to book their seats as soon as it was announced that amapiano star Kelvin Momo would headline this year’s show, set to take place on June 6 and 7 at The Teatro, Montecasino, which holds 1,870 people.

This highly anticipated event will see the 30-year-old producer team up with the Egoli Symphonic Orchestra, led by the legendary music director and conductor, Adam Howard. Together, they will create a powerful fusion of Kelvin’s emotional “private school amapiano” sound and classical orchestral music.

Kelvin Momo expressed his excitement about this one-of-a-kind performance in a statement shared with TshisaLIVE:

“It’s an honour to headline this year’s Red Bull Symphonic. As a producer, my passion lies in pushing boundaries, and seeing my sound, private school amapiano, come to life with an orchestra is one for the history books.”

The Red Bull Symphonic is not your ordinary concert. It brings together two very different music styles – amapiano and classical – in a bold and beautiful way. Kelvin will perform some of his biggest hits, including Amalobolo and Bo GoGo, reimagined with the energy of live instruments from the orchestra. This will be a rare and unforgettable musical journey through the past, present, and future of amapiano.

Adam Howard is no stranger to the stage. A highly respected classical and jazz musician, he has worked with South African icons like Brenda Fassie and TKZee, and international stars such as Alicia Keys and Hugh Masekela. After being part of last year’s debut Red Bull Symphonic show, he returns this year as the main conductor, promising another magical experience.

Last year’s performance, led by Kabza De Small, was the first time in South Africa that amapiano and orchestral music came together on such a grand scale. Now, with Kelvin Momo at the helm, fans are in for another groundbreaking show.

Kelvin Momo is also making waves outside the concert stage. He’s nominated for three 2025 Metro FM Music Awards, including Best Amapiano Album for his project Ntsako.
