Kelly Khumalo Speaks Out On The Ongoing Senzo Meyiwa Trial. Kelly Khumalo has remained the centre of her late partner’s murder trial despite not having testified (at least as yet), in court. From accusations and speculations, the singer has not been able to escape the tragedy that happened in 2014.
In aa recent interview with Relebogile Mabotja on 702, Kelly spoke out directly about the ongoing trial and how she feels about the public opinions directed at her.
“I know that there’s a cancel community, you cannot cancel what you have created. When the time is right, and when God allows, then they will hear my voice. So, whatever noise that they are making has absolutely nothing to do with me. When I’m needed, and when the time is right, the world will hear my voice. They will not hear my voice when they feel they should,” the singer said.
Kelly went on to add how she feels the public wants this particular case to be something they have never seen before because of their frustrations with the justice system.
“We have a problem when it comes to the South African justice system, but for some reason, because there is Kelly Khumalo involved, we want to make it something that is peculiar, something that is different, something that has never happened,” Khumalo said.
Meanwhile in the ongoing trial, Advocate Teffo who is representing the men accused of murdering Senzo alleged in court that a witness will be called to testify on how Kelly Khumalo allegedly mistakenly shot Senzo.
“I put it to you Mr Mosia that a witness, not just a witness, an eyewitness will testify that Senzo Robert Meyiwa was allegedly shot by Nonhlanhla Kelly Khumalo by mistake, as it’s alleged,” said Advocate Teffo in court.
