Award-winning fashion and lifestyle digital content creator Kefilwe Mabote recently shared a powerful and deeply personal message with her followers on Instagram, revealing her spiritual journey of discovery and redemption. Through a candid post, she expressed how she had spent years searching for answers to recurring patterns in her life—patterns that seemed impossible to break, despite her prayers and efforts.
“A journey of discovery and Redemption! Have you ever stopped to question why certain patterns keep repeating in your life, yet no matter how hard you pray or search, the answers seem out of reach?” she began in her story. Kefilwe opened up about how she had cried out to God, feeling broken and confused, until she made a life-changing decision in October 2023. That was when she chose to let go of worldly distractions and seek God more intentionally, laying everything at His feet. It was only then that she began to see the truth.
Kefilwe’s spiritual awakening revealed deep-rooted strongholds and spiritual challenges that had been following her through her bloodline. She came to realise how unknowingly she had opened doors to practices like idolatry, horoscopes, and unforgiveness, which were keeping her spiritually bound. “Cut long story short, God sent me a testimony that opened my eyes to a reality I wasn’t ready for: spiritual strongholds that had followed me through my bloodline,” she shared.
What shocked her most was the discovery of the “marine kingdom” and the vile spirits controlling the world. She noted that many churches shy away from addressing these spiritual realities, leaving Christians vulnerable and unaware of the forces they are up against. “Sadly, many churches shy away from teaching about these spiritual realities, leaving Christians vulnerable and confused,” she said.
Kefilwe emphasised that being a Christian or attending church didn’t automatically protect her from these spiritual forces. Instead, she had to fully surrender her life to Jesus, repent of her sins, and renounce everything that gave the enemy access to her life. “I had to surrender fully to Jesus, repent of all my sins, and renounce anything that gives the enemy access to my life,” she explained. “I see life differently now, and I’ve learned to live with humility.”
A key moment in her journey was symbolised by her decision to burn her Versace clothes, which she said were tied to idols she had unknowingly created in her heart. “Burning the Medusa face was one of the most freeing and therapeutic things I’ve ever done,” she confessed. For Kefilwe, this act of letting go marked her shift in perspective, where material possessions no longer defined her worth. “The next time I own something luxurious, it will simply be an item—not a reflection of my identity or my purpose,” she stated.
Kefilwe also shared a direct message to her followers, especially women, urging them to be spiritually vigilant. She warned about the dangers of casual relationships and the reality of spiritual spouses—entities that, according to her, seek to “steal, kill, and destroy.” “Life is deeply spiritual, and we often underestimate the consequences of casual relationships,” she cautioned.
Her journey of deliverance, she added, was not easy. It involved deep sacrifices, prayer, and fasting, including three months of fasting for deliverance to break free from soul ties and spiritual baggage from her past. “Spirits are traded through encounters and covenants are made with those spirits to serve altars we have no knowledge of, that’s a price far too high to pay!” she concluded.
