Award-winning content creator and influencer Kay Yarms has announced that she is expecting her first baby, sharing the emotional news with her followers on Instagram.
The 32-year-old revealed her growing baby bump on Tuesday, 1 September, marking the beginning of spring with a beautiful announcement about a new chapter in her life.
In the photographs, Kay Yarms wore a flowing white dress while showing off her baby bump. She also shared a beautiful tiny teddy bear alongside scans of her unborn baby, giving her followers a glimpse into her journey to motherhood.
Alongside the heartfelt images, Kay Yarms opened up about how becoming a mother has always been something she wanted.
She wrote, “and if you would’ve ever asked me what I truly wanted to be, this would’ve always been the answer.”
The announcement quickly attracted an outpouring of love and congratulations from friends, fans and fellow celebrities, who celebrated the content creator as she prepares to welcome her first child.
South African media personality Ayanda Thabethe shared a particularly heartfelt message, reflecting on a previous conversation she had with Kay Yarms.
“Omg that’s so true!!! Remembering our talk in Hamburg. I’m so happy for you Kay. You’re gonna be the best mommy,” she commented.
Nandi Madida also congratulated the soon-to-be mother, writing, “Congratulations, this is so beautiful!”
Lungile Thabethe joined in the celebrations, commenting, “Awww my dearest Kay. Congratulations sweet girl.”
Kay Yarms announcing her pregnancy on 1 September, during the month of spring, makes the moment even more symbolic as she enters a completely new season of her life.
The influencer has built a successful career through her work as a content creator, establishing herself as one of South Africa’s recognisable digital personalities.
Her career achievements include being featured in the Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 class of 2023. She has also built a strong community on YouTube, where she has more than 300 000 subscribers.
In 2023, Kay Yarms won the “Social Media Influencer of the Year” award at the South African Social Media Awards, further cementing her influence in the digital space.
Her career has also seen her work with major international brands. In 2024, she joined the NIVEA family and tested the NIVEA Luminous630 Anti-Dark Marks Advanced Treatment Serum.
As part of the partnership, Kay travelled to Germany with the NIVEA team, where she learnt more about the ingredients used in its products and how NIVEA works on the skin.
