“It Was Just An Over-Filtered Photo,” Khanyi Mbau On Her Viral Pic

Khanyi Mbau did not seem to be fazed by black twitter’s meme reactions to her viral photo showing “pink skin”. Now the actress is setting the record straight on what was going on in the photo. “It was just an over-filtered photo,” Khanyi Mbau on her viral pic.

According to Khanyi how she looked in the photo in not how she looks like in real life. Like every other girl on Instagram, it’s all filter.

“It was a picture that was over-filtered and people assumed that that was the colour of my skin,” Khanyi told Phat Joe on his radio show.

Despite denying that’s how she looks now, Khanyi confirmed that she had been lightening her skin for the past six years, and she feels that the controversial  pic gave most women the courage to ask her how she does it.

“It has always been a question but people weren’t strong enough to come out and ask me why am I getting lighter and lighter every year. Eventually that picture opened up the opportunity for people to come at me, and say, ‘we know what you’re doing’,” she said.
