Reality TV star and content creator Jojo Robinson, best known for her appearance on The Real Housewives of Durban, has opened up about her cosmetic surgery journey, and revealed she’s heading back under the knife once again.
Almost a year ago, Jojo made headlines after dissolving all her facial fillers and undergoing what she describes as a “life-changing” Deep Plane Face and Neck Lift with surgeon Dr. Paul McGarr. Reflecting on her transformation, she shared,
“Nearly 1 year since I dissolved all my filler and did my Life Changing Deep Plane Face and Neck lift with the Goat of surgery @drpaulmcgarr .. I recently looked back at videos pre-surgery and I can’t actually believe the difference.”
While some questioned her decision to get a facelift at just 37, Jojo had the perfect response:
“I was made to believe on socials that having a face lift at 37 was slightly crazy and although it probably is, my reply is why not? There is no definitive age for anyone for anything. Everybody is different and if you are unhappy with something and there is a tool available to fix it and you can afford it, then 100% age doesn’t matter.”
The RHOD star went on to explain that being on television and constantly seeing herself on screen contributed to her decision to have the procedure sooner rather than later.
“Why should I have waited for a more ‘appropriate’ age to do the surgery when I want to look my best NOW?” she said.
Jojo didn’t sugarcoat the healing process either, describing it as “mentally hard” and “extremely uncomfortable.”
“The recovery is extremely long and it seems to get worse before it gets better,” she admitted. “Pain level — minimal. Discomfort — lots of discomfort, the compression is horrible.”
She even broke down the cost for curious fans: “Between R130k to R200k, depending on the case, surgeon, and hospital. Recovery — 3 weeks with compression, 3 months to looking normal, and the best results at 1 year.”
Despite the challenges, Jojo insists it was worth every cent. “Honestly, it is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. It seems to keep getting better.”
Now, the reality star is ready for her next big surgery, this time, focusing on her thighs.
Earlier today, she revealed: “Goodbye Thunder thighs… I’m over you. You may exit the Jojo. Checked into hospital and ready to check the chubby legs straight out.”
Jojo added that the decision wasn’t just about looks, but also comfort: “Not having any thigh gap means my legs rub constantly together. Also tho… I mean, summer is coming.”
