American singer-songwriter and actress Jill Scott brought her soulful magic to Johannesburg at the DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival, leaving the crowd spellbound. With a career spanning over two decades, Scott delivered a performance that was both nostalgic and electrifying, showcasing a range of hits from her extensive discography.

From the smooth vibes of “Cross My Mind” and “Crown Royal,” Jill Scott gave the audience a taste of everything they love about her. The crowd swayed and sang along, especially when she performed fan-favourites like “A Long Walk” and the timeless anthem “Golden.” It was a night to remember, filled with emotion and energy as Scott’s voice resonated through the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.

After her performance, Scott took to Instagram to express her deep gratitude for the overwhelming love she received from her South African fans. In a heartfelt video, she shared the profound connection she felt with the crowd, promising that she would always return to the country that has embraced her so warmly.

“When YOU sing back Joburg???? It’s so beautiful and overwhelmingly WONDERFUL. Thank you @dstvdeliciousfestival for having us. Thank you Joburg for loving me the way you do. My heart soars,” Scott captioned the video, her voice filled with emotion.

The festival, known for its dynamic lineup, also featured performances from hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes and pop sensation Jason Derulo. The first day of the two-day event was a non-stop party, with Derulo celebrating his 35th birthday on stage, thrilling the crowd with his iconic hits like “Swalla Walla,” “Acapulco,” and “Talk Dirty to Me.” In a special moment, he was joined by Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz for a remix of “Komasava,” with South Africa’s own Robot Boii adding to the excitement.

Busta Rhymes, born Trevor George Smith Jr., did not disappoint either, captivating fans with a high-energy set that included classics like “Baby If You Give It to Me” and “Look at Me.” He even treated the crowd to a new track from his upcoming album, “BLOCKBUSTA,” before expressing his appreciation for the enthusiastic reception he received: “Joburg you guys gave me an early Christmas.”

The DStv Delicious Festival once again proved to be a highlight of the year, bringing together world-class talent and unforgettable moments
