Penny Sparrow is finally speaking out for the first time since she made the horrible remarks about black people in a Facebook post on New Years Eve. Sparrow says she is broke and has nothing. “I’m a poor white, not ugly and nasty,” Penny Sparrow.
“Right now I have R55 in my account to last the rest of the month. I don’t know what I am going to do. I am going to try and appeal the case and see if I can get a hearing,” she told News24.
Asked what her plans for the future are, Sparrow says it doesn’t look too bright. “I have nothing, I am what you call a poor white and I really have nothing and I don’t know what to do. The future holds nothing for me and I have no home… there is no home… it is hopeless.”
Sparrow defended herself saying her post was taken out of context. “The things I said were read wrongly. It was people in general. I wasn’t saying it was black people or the ANC or DA. There were people of all colors. I feel terrible. I did not mean to insult anyone. I’m not a nasty person, I’m not an ugly person. I am apologetic the way it came over looked like an insult.”
