Well, this is awkward.
About a week ago Nigerian sensation Davido was barred from leaving the country with his daughter and now it’s being reported that human trafficking police are investigating him.
The musician took to social media last week, to share an incident that happened at the Lagos airport and further opened up about his on and off relationship with his baby mama,Sophia Momodu.
Davido claims that he was only trying to get his daughter the best medical treatment by taking her to Dubai before Sophia intervened and he was stopped by policemen at the airport.
Davido and Sophia have since been battling it out in a heated custody battle, but Sophia took it up a notch and has reported Davido to authorities for attempting to kidnap their daughter.
According to Punch Nigeria, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), have opened an investigation against the musician for allegedly kidnapping his daughter.
“The case was reported to us on Wednesday and we have already commenced investigations. That is the only thing I can say for now. We are known for doing a diligent job irrespective of who is involved,” Lagos State Zonal Commander, Joseph Famakin told the publication.
“For now, I cannot say anything about the case because we have just sent out invitations to the parties involved. I have neither seen nor interviewed any of them so for now I cannot really say much. All I can say is that we have commenced a full scale investigation into the matter after we received the petition on Wednesday evening,” he adds.
Davido took to social media to share that he’d rather be quiet on the matter for the sake of his daughter.
