ICYMI! Actor Tony Kgoroge And Robert Marawa’s Tense Exchange On Twitter Over Diversity! Robert Marawa inspired the nation when he launched his own TV channel on YouTube after getting the boot from SuperSport.
The nation rallied behind the seasoned broadcaster which saw his YouTube channel reaching over 26k subscribers in less than a month. But with the success comes criticism too. Imbweu: The Seed actor Tony Kgoroge called out Marawa on twitter for having a “white” production team behind the scenes.
“Congratulations @robertmarawa Please try a black film crew as well… we’ve got great young talent,” Tony tweeted to Marawa. In response, Robert tweeted, “Thanx Tony…wasn’t gonna respond to ur text cause it’s heaped with ignorance..let me indulge u quickly…U have my number bro-the crew that did the Benni interview was 100% black/owned & the one I will use on Wednesday..But allow my journey to be without external dictatorship.”
The exchange got tense and we’re still wondering whether Tony was too forward wanting to sound woke or was Robert harsh in his response?
