Singer and Big Brother Mzansi Season 4 housemate, Liyema Pantsi, is taking her fans even deeper into her world—this time, through live streaming. The rising star recently announced that she’s now on Twitch, a platform best known for video game streams, but also used for live chats, creative content, and more.
Sharing the news on her Instagram Stories, Liyema wrote: “Y’all I just basically opened my own reality show on Twitch. If you wanna watch what I’m doing everyday LIVE JUST SUBSCRIBE HERE,” adding a link to her Twitch account.
But this isn’t just another influencer move. Liyema says it’s about being real, raw, and present.
“First black girl in SA to do this? Let’s freakin’ run it up!” she exclaimed. She explained her reasons behind choosing Twitch over traditional vlogging, saying: “Why Twitch? Honestly y’all been chastising me for vlogs. And honestly? The time to edit and my ADHD don’t allow to succeed.”
She continued, “So how about you just go live all day and you watch my life if you want to? Right? Right!”
Liyema admitted that she’s ready to open up more than ever before. “I know I will be revealing a lot about myself and my life in general. I honestly don’t care. You can see it if you like. All I’m excited about is showing you my creative processes, habits, freaking emotional instability lol, and how boring it is in general.”
Still, she confessed she’s nervous about the whole idea. “Ndoyoyika (I’m so freaking scared) but I know if I don’t do this, I won’t ever post YouTube videos and I might disappear from the face of the earth. (I mean ‘social media’ for the people at the back),” she said.
When a fan asked if she’d still be able to have privacy, Liyema reassured them: “Yes of course omg. Aiming for 8 hours a day. The 16-hour run is crazy for me.”
Another fan encouraged her, saying: “Yes pls Lily…we can’t afford you not making this at all so let’s go with what you have planned initially and take it from there.”
To that, Liyema replied: “Didn’t plan anything. This is just an impulsive decision and it feels right.”
With her bold move to Twitch, Liyema is rewriting what it means to be a modern-day entertainer in South Africa. Her fans can now watch her life unfold in real time—and she’s doing it all her way.
