Out all of the things that a public figure could stand up and fight against, Bra Hugh Masekela chose weaves, yes you read right- weaves!
The jazz legend has brought up the weave debate once again, saying that South African women are losing their heritage because of the fake hair.
Sowetan reports that Bra Hugh was speaking at the Unisa annual law conference earlier this week an he once again brought up the weave topic.
The musician insists that it’s his constitutional right to deny women with weaves to take a picture with him.
In addition to that Hugh was interviewed on enca for a Heritage Day special and shared all his views on the topic once again.
“If you look at the traditional pageants they are wearing traditional clothes but are wearing wigs and weaves. It doesn’t mix.”
“It’s important to know that in places like Europe you can go anywhere you see your history, we don’t have places like that,” he later adds.
If you remember not too long ago we reported that Hugh apparently doubled up his security team for performances to prevent women with weaves from taking pictures with him.
All we have to say is, LOL, you’re fighting a losing battle papa.
