Popular traditional healer and reality TV star Gogo Maweni has officially become Mrs. Mgube after a grand traditional wedding with her partner, Sabelo Mgube. According to IOL News, the couple tied the knot at Mgube’s homestead in Maqongqo, outside Pietermaritzburg, on Sunday, marking the occasion with a vibrant celebration filled with love, culture, and joy.
Although Gogo Maweni and Sabelo Mgube were already legally married, they chose to honour their union with a traditional ceremony in accordance with Shembe Church customs, which Mgube’s family follows. The event was nothing short of spectacular, as Gogo Maweni, known for her lavish lifestyle, spared no expense for her big day. The highlight was her towering five-tier wedding cake, reflecting the extravagance she’s known for.
Gogo Maweni has been sharing glimpses of her journey to becoming Mrs. Mgube traditionally with her Instagram followers, including cherished moments from the wedding day. In videos shared online, the “Izangoma Zodumo” star is seen dancing and singing with her husband and family, fully immersed in the joyous occasion.
Despite the grandeur, Gogo Maweni revealed that the day was a bit overwhelming. Speaking to Daily Sun, she opened up about her emotions, admitting, “I felt overwhelmed. I don’t want to lie, I was scared. People don’t know that I’m a shy person, and I had all eyes on me today. I was doing something that I didn’t know, but I loved being part of it. I’m very happy because we are just making it official.”
Reflecting on her relationship, Gogo Maweni added, “We got married a long time ago, and those who thought they would get in the way of this relationship failed.”
