There’s trouble in paradise for popular sangoma and reality TV star Gogo Maweni and her husband, Sabelo Mgube. The couple, who tied the knot in a lavish traditional ceremony in July last year and are currently expecting twins, are making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

A voice clip of Gogo Maweni allegedly confronting her husband about an affair has gone viral on social media. In the audio, she can be heard instructing Sabelo to break things off with his alleged side chick.

In the leaked clip, Gogo Maweni is heard demanding that Sabelo end the affair and make it clear to the woman that he is committed to his marriage.

“Tell her that you don’t want to be with her, you don’t want to see her, and I have her fcking address, okay? … and whatever you guys were doing together is over.”

The leaked audio sparked a heated debate on social media, with many users on X (formerly Twitter) sharing their thoughts on the situation. @IDollyby2 commented, “Some women are bullies, you have to choose wisely!” while @destinyzee added, “May this kind of crazy never locate me, haibo.” Others, like @Seni_WaMboni, were more critical, saying, “Maweni is crazy, she has jail to worry about but she’s busy raising her husband. Imagine having a husband you treat like a little boy because he doesn’t know how to be a man and behave. Tjooo hai.”

Beyond her marital troubles, Gogo Maweni is also facing legal battles. According to TshisaLIVE, she appeared in the Protea Magistrate’s Court in Soweto on Wednesday, where she faces a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm for an alleged incident dating back to 2019.

Her bail has been extended until May 5, when her trial will begin. This case has drawn significant attention, as it is not her first brush with the law.

Maweni, whose real name is Makhotso Lee-Anne Mofokeng, has a history of legal troubles. She was previously convicted of theft and fraud, which resulted in three months of community service. Additionally, she pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol 15 years ago.
