Influencer and content creator Munaka Muthambi has officially announced that she is leaving the Piano Pulse podcast. The popular show, hosted by Munaka alongside Thakgi and Sfiso, explores the vibrant world of Amapiano music, featuring artist interviews, industry trends, and cultural discussions. It currently airs on Mzansi Wethu (DStv Channel 163).

In a heartfelt message, Munaka opened up about her decision to step away. She said,

“So, I’ve made the decision today that I’m leaving Piano Pulse and it’s such a tough decision for me because I really want to be a part of the culture and I love these guys so much. It’s something that I’ve prayed about — it’s not even about me anymore. God has spoken to me and it’s something that I have to do. My reasons have nothing to do with Reason (a rapper) and our incident at Heineken… we moved past that a long time ago. For me, this show needs someone who’s going to be dedicated, someone who’s going to push the culture. Someone who’s going to be consistent, and I feel like it’s unfair that I stay here knowing very well that my head is still in other places. I want to say thank you guys for watching the show and for being a part of the culture with us.”

Her exit has sparked mixed reactions on social media. Fans and followers quickly shared their thoughts on X (formerly Twitter).

One user, @the_piano_operator, supported her and wrote,

“Wish Munaka all the best. She did okay as the host and even better as a mediator between the two gents. Let’s just make sure the next host is 100% a Yano girl.”

Another fan, @Simphiweyinkoci, believed leaving was the right move, saying,

“Munaka is a brand and this podcast was going to ruin it for her.”

However, not everyone was surprised by the news. @duncan_mofokeng commented,

“C’mon… we knew she wasn’t gonna last. As a matter of fact, the show itself won’t last.”

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela also weighed in. He said,

“This was inevitable. The writing was on the wall since that Heineken incident. Many will disagree but I actually think Munaka was the perfect buffer between Thakgi and Sfiso. She brought the balance as the moderator. Her career ambitions, for me, was the one thing I felt made her unfit for that chair. Her goals and the objectives of the show just didn’t align. However, having the two highly opinionated boys screaming at each other without someone to defuse the noise will diminish the show. They need someone to be the middle voice.”

This was inevitable.
