South African rapper Gigi Lamayne has released a new single, Mongameli, featuring The Qwellers. The song, whose title means “President” in Zulu, carries a message of empowerment and leadership.
According to IOL, the track is an anthem celebrating self-determination and resilience. Gigi shared her thoughts on the song’s meaning, saying, “This song is about claiming your power and leading with purpose. I wanted to create something that not only resonates with my own journey but also speaks to anyone who has faced challenges, made sacrifices, and stood up to be a leader.”
She praised her collaborators, The Qwellers, for their unique contribution to the project. “The Qwellers brought their distinct energy to this track, and together, we’re delivering something that I’m proud of,” she said.
In addition to Mongameli, Gigi recently released another song titled Come Outside. Unlike Mongameli, this track doesn’t yet have accompanying visuals, but it still showcases her versatility as an artist.
