Get ready for Genesis, Mzansi Magic’s highly anticipated telenovela, set to premiere on April 21st at 19:30. This gripping series promises to change the narrative around the gospel music industry, bringing high-stakes drama, emotional twists, and powerful performances.

Genesis takes viewers into the intense world of gospel music, where loyalty is tested and betrayal can strike at any moment. At the heart of the story is Felicia Thabethe, once hailed as the queen of gospel. Together with her husband Gabriel, she built a strong musical legacy. But when shocking secrets threaten to surface, everything Felicia has worked for begins to unravel. With Genesis Records on the line, she must fight to protect her family’s reputation. Will she rise from the ashes of betrayal, or will the fallout cost her everything she holds dear?

“Mzansi viewers must gear up for an emotional rollercoaster of a ride because that’s what’s in store when Genesis premieres,” says Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels for M-Net. “It’s all about family, power struggles, love, faith – all set in the powerful and highly contested gospel music industry which is very relatable to Mzansi.”

The series features an all-star cast, including Baby Cele (known for Sibongile & The Dlaminis and Shaka iLembe), Buyile Mdladla (Gomora), Nay Maps (Umkhokha: The Curse, The Queen), Gaosi Raditholo (The River), Kealeboga Masango (Youngins), and KB Motsilanyane. These talented actors bring their A-game to this drama-filled journey through the highs and lows of the gospel industry.

Produced by Singavision Productions, Genesis is set to captivate audiences with its compelling storyline and unforgettable performances. The show promises to resonate deeply with Mzansi viewers, touching on themes of love, power, family, and faith, all within the backdrop of the competitive gospel music world.

Don’t miss the drama when Genesis premieres on Monday, April 21st, at 19:30 on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161). It’s set to be a ride you won’t forget!
