In a devastating incident in Pretoria, a five-year-old boy lost his life in a hijacking gone horribly wrong. The boy, identified as Ditebogo Junior was shot in front of his father as they arrived home on Friday evening. Police reports indicate that armed suspects hijacked the father’s vehicle, resulting in the fatal shooting of the young child.

The news has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting South African DJ Lamiez Holworthy-Morule to take action. Expressing her heartbreak and determination to stand against such tragedies, she has pledged to cover the expenses for Ditebogo Junior’s tombstone. Holworthy-Morule, known for her role as a DJ, television personality, and radio presenter, spoke out passionately, declaring that such violence cannot become normalised.

“This can’t be our norm – Ka hana,” she stated firmly.

Moved by the heartbreaking loss, fellow South Africans have already begun rallying behind the family. In a remarkable display of solidarity, donations totalling R8,349 have poured in to contribute towards the little boy’s funeral expenses.

In the midst of this devastating loss, her act of kindness serves as a poignant reminder of the crucial role community solidarity and compassion play during times of tragedy. As neighbour’s unite to grieve for Ditebogo Junior, their overwhelming support shines brightly as a guiding light amid the darkness of sorrow.
