Earlier this week we mentioned that Maggie Benedict’s shoplifting case had been postponed to today as Magistrate Pravina Raghunandan on Monday at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court requested that Benedict’s case be postponed once again as she needs more time to look through the trail transcript as she only received it on Monday.
Maggie was arrested about a year and a half ago for allegedly stealing a bottle of headache pills from Checkers supermarket in Cresta Mall in Johannesburg.
Today after all the agony and back and forth with the court Maggie plead not guilty. Maggie once again explained to the judge like she did to her fans that she had purchased the bottle of pills worth R17.49 a few weeks before she was arrested for apparently stealing them and the bottle had been left unopened in her bag since then.
After a whole year and a half the former Generations actress can get back to living her life without a criminal charge behind her name because the court found her not guilty of shoplifting.
