Extortion Charges Against Muvhango’s McDonald Ndou Have Been ‘Provisionally Withdrawn’! On Monday it was reported that actor, McDonald Ndou had been arrested on multiple charges including extortion, corruption, theft and kidnapping.
Now it’s being reported that charges against Ndou have been provisionally withdrawn. The Hawks confirmed to TshisaLIVE that Ndou is still a person of interest in the case but additional investigations would have to be carried out.
“Two of the accused men, Owen Landi and Emmanuel Shabani, were charged and will remain in custody until they appear in a bail application hearing. However, McDonald Ndou’s charges have been provisionally withdrawn pending investigation because the court doesn’t want to maliciously prosecute him,” hawks spokesperson Ndivhuwo Mulamu told TshisaLIVE.
Mulamu added that should the investigation bring evidence against Ndou, nothing would stop them from bringing it forward to the court to place it on the roll. “Only after the investigation is done and if the results of the investigation call for it will Ndou be charged, arrested and his case put on the court roll,” he explained.
Ndou and his team have yet to put out a statement but his show Muvhango has spoken out saying they have no inside information regarding Ndou’s case and are awaiting further details from law enforcement and the family. Read their full statement below.
