Award-winning rapper Emtee, real name Mthembeni Ndevu, issued a heartfelt and frustrated statement on Monday, addressing the prolonged delay of his highly anticipated album D.I.Y 3. Fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from the star, but according to Emtee, he has little control over the situation.
The project, which has been in the works for over a year, is already recorded, yet it remains unreleased. In his statement, Emtee claimed he feels powerless despite being done with his part. “I cannot remember one thing that has been done for me by them. I organise my own shows, people steal from me, so they laugh and say, ‘he lost it all,’ nah bi#ch you stole from me,” the rapper shared candidly.
His frustration extends beyond the album itself. Emtee expressed disappointment in his label’s lack of support, revealing that it has been a year since he met with the CEO of Emtee Records, his own label, without seeing any results. His personal life has also been affected, with his family, friends, and fans constantly inquiring about the album’s release. “This has to be the worst moment in my life. I cannot post anything without being asked by millions of supporters about my album,” he admitted.
Reflecting on his past experiences with Ambitiouz Entertainment, the label he left amid controversy, Emtee made a stark comparison: “Ambitious was hell, but they did not keep me waiting for a whole year to even give a F**k about me.”
