Ever since Clive Morris Productions began working on Empini and Queendom, both telenovelas have faced a series of challenges, including financial issues and on-set problems. The cast and crew of Empini on Showmax and Queendom on BET initially went unpaid, but payments were eventually made. Now, Empini has been reassigned to a new production company, Crystal Pics, which is also allegedly dealing with issues on set.

Reported by ZiMoja, recently actor Mpumi Mpama was injured during a rehearsal fight scene on Empini. An insider told ZiMoja that Mpama was taken for medical attention and given time off to recover. Concerned cast and crew members sent a letter to the production company, urging them to address the issue.

The letter stated: “Mpumi was brutally injured to the point where he was rushed to the hospital. This situation highlighted a significant lack of oversight and communication that could have prevented such an occurrence.” It also noted that other cast members had previously been injured, emphasising the need for stricter safety protocols on set.

PR specialist Zibuyile Dladla confirmed that Mpama was hurt two weeks ago and was sent to the doctor as a precaution. “Mr. Mpama is in good health and back on set working again, and his medical bill was taken care of,” Dladla said. He added that safety measures for stunts and special effects have been put in place to minimise risks on the action-packed show.
