Over the weekend, Amapiano sensation Njelic found himself in the spotlight for reasons beyond his music. A viral video showed his girlfriend, Nokuthula Manonga, demanding he leave her apartment, sparking widespread curiosity and speculation.
In the now-infamous clip, Manonga can be heard instructing Njelic, whose real name is Tshwarelo Motlhako, to “leave with all his belongings” and threatening to donate them if he refused. “Hamba, stupid,” she says in the video, “layisha zonke izinto zakho uhamba,” urging him to pack up and go.
Speaking to Sunday World, Manonga clarified the situation, explaining that their heated exchange was part of their usual dynamic. “I looked so cute and that is why I kicked him out of my house. We fought on a live video because, at that specific time, I was live,” she revealed. She further admitted that such conflicts happen frequently in their relationship. “Literally every second day, I am kicking him out of my house; it’s the kind of toxic part of what always happens.”
Despite the dramatic incident, Manonga insists that she still loves the “Nana Thula” hitmaker. She stressed that the video only showed a fragment of their relationship, which has been ongoing for four years. “Everyone is going to make it seem like I am so crazy; I am the stupid, rich, crazy girl with a dad that is rich. What does my dad have to do with my relationship?” she questioned, addressing the critics who commented on her family’s wealth.
Manonga also addressed rumours and misconceptions about their relationship, noting that Njelic’s multiple children and her father’s wealth are not issues for her. “He did not do anything. I am always arguing with him, and I did not humiliate him,” she stated firmly. She also dispelled rumours about gifting Njelic a BMW, saying that the car was not from her.
As the couple navigates their tumultuous relationship, it’s clear that their personal life, much like Njelic’s music, continues to captivate their audience.
