With Christmas just around the corner, many people are feeling the pressure to find the perfect gifts for their loved ones. Dr Musa Mthombeni, a well-known TV personality, is no exception. In a humorous post on social media, he shared the unique challenge of having to buy both Christmas and birthday presents for his wife, Liesl Laurie, whose birthday falls on December 24th.
“I know I’ve been quiet for the past couple of days, please excuse me, I’m dealing with a lot,” Mthombeni wrote. “These three pictures are a visual representation of my UMGOWO! I’m currently dealing with a lot. Why, you may ask? Well, not only is it the festive season, not only is Christmas around the corner, but it was also my wife’s birthday month. This girl’s birthday is on the 24th of December. BATHONG!”
Mthombeni went on to explain the financial strain of celebrating both occasions in such a tight time frame: “Which means that I find myself having to buy festive presents, birthday presents, and Christmas presents.”
In a playful plea to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Mthombeni jokingly called for December birthdays to be banned: “@presidencyza please declare December birthdays illegal. Not only are we fighting for our lives financially because of the month in general, we now find ourselves having to celebrate ama birthday we genge yaka December. Noooorrrr!”
To lighten the mood, Mthombeni offered a humorous solution: “I’ll be accepting your ewallets, cryptocurrencies, EFTs and cash. DM for banking details.”
