Dr Musa Mthombeni has added another impressive achievement to his name — he has officially completed the Master of Medicine in Diagnostic Radiology from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits).
Affectionately known as Dr Musa, he took to social media to proudly share the good news with his fans and followers. He posted a screenshot of the confirmation email from the university, which read: “Dear Dr Musawenkosi Mthombeni, Congratulations on completing the requirements for the Master of Medicine in Diagnostic Radiology. We wish you all the best in your future career.”
Dr Musa, who turned 35 just three days ago, called it a perfect birthday gift. He captioned the post: “A little birthday present to me. Ke di batla one by one!”
The celebration didn’t end there. His wife, former Miss South Africa Liesl Laurie, beamed with pride in the comments, saying: “Soooo proud of you, my husband!”
Friends and fellow celebrities also joined in to celebrate his success. Hungani Ndlovu, known for his role on Skeem Saam, wrote: “Congratulations on all your hard work that you make look very easy!”
In 2023, Dr Musa had already made headlines after becoming a board-certified specialist radiologist, achieving his FC Rad Diag (SA). At the time, he shared his excitement:
“Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: Dr. Musawenkosi Mthokozisi Mthombeni – FC Rad Diag (SA). A ‘Board Certified’ SPECIALIST RADIOLOGIST. Results are out (Frame 2 if you can’t believe it — trust me I didn’t either — I had to keep asking Liesl if she also sees the word pass) All the studying (and you know I hated every minute of it) has paid off.”
Now equipped with an MBBCh (Wits), FC Rad Diag (SA), and MMed (Wits), and currently pursuing a fellowship in Interventional NeuroRadiology set to be completed in 2025, Dr Musa is steadily building a remarkable legacy.
He summed it up perfectly on X with the words: “One by one!!!” — a simple yet powerful reminder of his commitment and determination.
